San Gregorio, Italy Information

It feels like a village within a village, tucked away behind high walls and gates. Then a feeling of privacy pervades, though the outside world, in the shape of San Gregorio with its shops and restaurants, is just a walk away. And finally an air of exotic seclusion, provided by a coolly mature vine-clad pergolato, lawned gardens, palms, cypresses, a swimming pool and all manner of tropical plants.  Within this enclave, various buildings, amongst which houses and a chapel, lead off from a shady tree-lined avenue, as does our single-floor traditional Sicilian house.  For a wealth of ’foreign’ diversion however, Sicily’s second city, Catania, with its airport and palaces, many made from Mount Etna’s black lava stone, is about four kilometres away.
