The house dominates the small hamlet of San Romano, a short walking distance, with a mobile shop which visits every day except Sunday. Here too is the 'Devil's Bridge', legendarily built in a single night by the Devil in return for the first soul to cross it - the locals sent a pig! The house is 4 kms from the main road which leads to Lucca at 20kms, the coast line of Viareggio is 45 kms and Pisa is 42 kms. Many footpaths of varying degrees of difficulty are to be found in the mountains and much local information is available. There are also mountain bikes available for guests to use.

Borgo a Mozzano, Italy Information
In one of the most romantic parts of northern Tuscany is the Garfagnana mountain range, beloved by Lord Byron and Shelley. It is also one of the most interesting, natural areas with gorges, rivers, torrents, medieval villages, churches, and spectacular, scenic drives go over to the Apuan Alps on the other side. At nearly 500 metres above sea level, Casa Al Colle perches in absolute tranquillity on a hillside looking onto the extravaganza of verdant, rising mountains. The house is well furnished, is spacious and has some typical, Tuscan, covered loggia terraces from where the views are ecstatic.
