My name is Maureen Kelly Carreño and I am the owner of Travelingweddings.com.
I have been in the travel industry since 1988. I worked for a charter airline, then Pan American Airlines in the late '80's early '90's. In the '90's I worked for Apple Vacations. In 1997 I took a position with a travel agency. Within 3 years I worked hard to transition that agency into an award winning agency.
I noticed working at the agency that I was doing more and more destination weddings over the past 10 years. I did them before they were en vogue. I saw an opportunity and created Travelingweddings.com.
We belong to the Better Business Bureau and you can feel free to research us, ask for references or whatever makes you comfortable. We don’t mind, really!

Travel agents are widely misunderstood. We get paid by tour companies, cruise lines, hotels, resorts, rental car companies etc. We get a percentage of their profit. You don't pay extra for our service, you more often pay less or gain value in your purchase through an agent.
When people come to us and ask for rates and information we often spend hours of our time shopping around for the best deal for our potential client. We don’t make any money unless you are happy and you purchase something. Then our suppliers pay us our portion out of their profit, upon your happy return.
I don’t think that anybody works harder to make less money than a travel agent. We work hard to bring you the lowest possible rate on your vacation without sacrificing value.
We don’t outsource our calls, we answer the phone. You get our real name and you can get the same person every time you call. We strive for excellence on every vacation, but when the unforeseen happens, you can contact us and we will work hard to make it right for you. We are your advocate.
